Baba Bulleh Shah was a 17th century Sufi Saint and poet from the Punjab. He was born at a time of great strife in the region but taught a message of love and tolerance between all Faiths. As a Sufi, he believed in Universal Unity and in oneness of God and urged people to ignore differences of Faith and live in harmony with each other and with Nature. He rejected notions of Caste and preached equality of all regardless of creed, colour or gender. He taught that to find God, we have to look within ourselves and live our lives as fulfilled human beings without getting lost in pointless rituals and prejudices. This edition contains a new translation of some of Baba Bulleh Shah’s most famous poems, together with their Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi texts. For those unfamiliar with Punjabi, a section of transliteration of each poem is also included. Read more
